I like James Cameron's Titanic.

Why would anyone who wasn't seriously sick in the head want to view child *Bad word*?

By looking at it, you are excepting that child *Bad word* is OK, adding to the 'need' in the market for child *Bad word*, which is just as bad as peadophiles IMO.

I agree with all you say apart from the last bit. Looking, visualising and thinking about a criminal act is far far removed from actively committing the crime.

Erika's back cheers Twisted Evil

Kind of get were you are coming from with 2 although having child *Bad word* shoudl be a serious offence compared to the actual physical act of paedophilia (SP?).

Four is spot on, respect your elders, authority figures etc has always been something I have thought of as an absolute load of *Bad word*. If they fought in a war you can respect that certainly, but you treat people how you would like to be treated in my book and too many people expect to be treated with some kind of reverence simply because they are old or hold a position of power.

Sorry - to drag this one back but I couldn't let it go...

Point number two - The child was abused so someone could look at the *Bad word*. There's no difference between looking and doing.

Heres a first. I completely and utterly agree with Fizzy. By viewing childporn you are effectively supporting it. The two are equal IMO.

I agree too, they must have an interest in it to be looking at it. Regardless of whether they are looking or doing they are still sick people, and whether they all fall under the peodophile umbrella or not should make no difference. They deserve a criminal record and whatever punishment comes with it.

Hey Erika!!

But blimey, how do you think the child p o rn was made? Watching it, is supporting it being made again. It really isn't (in my book) about the watching, but to watch it helps keep demand for it - which causes the abuse.

But yes, respect should never be automatic. It has to be earned.

I'm not sure about the respect having to be earned thing. The way I see it is you treat everyone with respect unless they do something that doesn't deserve that treatment.

You don't withhold respect until its shown to you, do you?

Gotta agree, respect comes first, you can lose respect for someone based on their actions but that respct should exist in the first place as a matter of politeness.

The university system needs revamped. Amongst other things, universities should be for teaching students. The concept of a "research university" is at odds with what's supposedly a teaching establishment. "Lecturers" should have teaching qualifications - knowing a subject inside out does not mean you can automatically share this knowledge effectively.

Viewing material is one thing. Raping, torturing and abusing children is another kettle of fish.

What about those who view photos of naked innocent kids who aren't being raped or tortured? Should they be called paedophiles too?
