Scratching a secondary income on eBay?

Does anyone make a decent sum of eBay? Thinking of trying it out for a secondary income. If you do how much time are you putting in and what are you selling? Only talking about making say twenty five to fifty quid a week.

It's do able. I did it before. Not now as my account was suspended.

I was selling electronics, gifts, toys, eBooks.

Even easier if you can get stuff cheap.

Have you got into this Dave? What sort of stuff are you selling and where do you get it from to begin with? I would be interested in doing this as well but not sure where to start.

Initially started off by selling stuff from up the loft and round the house. Amazingly old CD's, camcorders and all sorts of other gubbins were selling quite well.

Once I cleared out the loft I found myself buying off eBay itself and car boot sales. The key I have found is to sell stuff that is either rare but people want it (no point buying stuff that is rare that people are not interested in) or stuff that will always sell.

I have found rare computer games, books and CD's tend to sell quite well on eBay. If you do a check on how much something is selling for then you can usually gauge quite well how miuch it will go for.

Phones always sell for varying prices so if you can get hold of any of them then you are on a winner and clothes can make you a small fortune. Especially if they are named i.e Monsoon, Reebok or even Next. Picking these up for a few quid almost guarantees a tidy profit and the cheap postage helps.

Of course, the best thing to do if you are planning to sell a lot is to have it ready to list and list it all on a cheap listing day.

Thanks Dave, I will have a think about this over xmas and see what i can come up with in the new year! xxx Come to think of it - I have a huge box full of CD's that we are going to convert to a digital storage device thingy (technical arn't I?) so I might just start off with all those!

You're right about a cheap listing day too, it makes a huge difference to your end profit doesn't it? Just based on teh few things I have sold as one off's in the past. I have seen them doing free listing days before now so hopefully they will stick one of those up in the NY. x

Just be aware that if you sell the CD's after storing them on a hard drive, technically you should be deleting the files........!
