This has annoyed me.

I have been using eBay for years, and not once have I been charged VAT post bidding.

When I looked back, it was in the ad but VERY hidden. I think this is out of order.

It happens a lot with electricals but most people put it in whacking big letters. The VAT after purchase annoys me too.

This is only mildly related, but last christmas I bought a £600 camera from ebay and only after it arrived did I get the invoice from FedEx telling me I owed them £40odd for an import charge. The seller had advertised being in England but it actually came from China. I was not happy!

It wasn't electrical, and it was hidden behind a link you HAD to click on to see it.

I work with advertising rules everyday in my job, and I would be in breach of regulations if I tried to advertise and hide some small print, I would be fined.

Have written an angry email about it, and they will get neutral feedback at best.

My issue is that once I found out about the VAT, I was unable to come out of the sale without potentially getting negative feedback myself.
