Good to see Lewis Hamilton win his first grand prix today. Looks like we have another British sporting superstar on our hands. Looks a good bet for the sporting personality of the year to me. By the way, how bad was that crash, 180 mph airborne into a wall !!

Blah, is Formula 1 really gotten uninteresting. I haven't really actively followed it for the past two years now (and since all the actual Live main events have been moved into the new digital network everybody is forced to have and which I don't have yet) there's really nothing to tickle my interest.

When Matti Kyllönen retired from announcing it and was replaced by that bland Tomi Whatthehellishisname, it just wasn't even close to the same. And then Mika Häkkinen was replaced by that total embarrasment Kimi Räikkönen, the whole thing has become really distasteful. Even with a freakin' Ferrari he can't do anything! (other than partying around on his stupid boat and coming across as a total a**hole)

Blergh for the whole F1 scene as far as I'm concerned. Mad

Spain's top motor official has turned up the heat in this weekends Formula 1 title decider with some outrageous comments over Lewis Hamilton.

What has his colour got to do with anything ? Hes British.

And like we need to be lectured by the Spanish, the words 'pot' 'kettle' and 'black' spring to mind.

This is just mind games. Come on Lewis.

Good luck to Lewis Hamilton but I think that Maclaren and both drivers should have been thrown out of the championship for cheating.

It just shows how this sport is run more for the benefit of the sponsors and profit than for the integrity of the rules. If another lesser known manufacturer had been caught doing what Maclaren had been doing they would have been banned no questions asked.

It is a shame that if Hamilton does win what should be a great achievement will be tainted by the cheating scandal...

I did think the same after their football managers racist comments about Henry.

Spanish people are racist in general. The last time our national side played in Spain every time one of our black players touched the ball, the whole crowd made monkey chanting noises.

The quotes aren't under doubt. The man who made these comments is now under investigation by the FIA for racist remarks.

Excuse me but that's an outrageous thing to say. It's like claiming all French people eat too much garlic and Germans like to goose-step.

Spanish people are NOT "racist in general" any more than British people are. Spanish football fans may not have acquited themselves too admirably in the example you've just offered but we've not got the greatest track record in that respect either. I don't think gross generalisations like that are to be encouraged.

I will rephrase 'They are more racist than us'.

We have pockets of racism but nothing compared to Spain, In fact contrary to what some would have us believe, I think we are one of the most tolerant nations in the world.

The last time I was in Spain, I was in a bar and a gang of Spaniards attacked a Moroccan and beat the crap out of him. From what I could gather, It sounded a regular activity...abusing or assaulting coloured people. Id say they are at present how we were 30 years ago.

Back to the football example - it wasnt parts of the crowd - it was the whole crowd, 50 odd thousand, all ages, all backgrounds, deep rooted stuff. Thats not happened in English football since the sixties and even then probably not as bad.

Hope Lewis does it today. Only 22, he could become the greatest driver of all time and possibly Britains greatest sportsman of all time. He has the world at his feet, I hope he can handle it. Everything Ive seen so far tells me he can.

Sportsman? I'm still not convinced that driving a highly engineered car very fast round in circles is really a sport.

It's a skill (and a well paid one) but compared to cycling the Tour de France (if anyone actually does that without drugs) it's more like a very fast game of chess. For me it's up there with darts and snooker - skill but not sport.

OK guys, you can now tell me how stupid I am but F1 does nothing for me.
