I'm not alone then! I did write one ciao, but it was terrible. Like I said some instruments are obvious, but others are very hard to decipher. Lisa x

Just had to look them up on Amazon, as I've never heard of them. I take it this album is Country and Rock like the previous ones? Lisa x

Sites such as HMV and Amazon always make me laugh, as half the time the music is in the wrong category. I'm listening to some of the tracks on itunes at the moment to see what they're like. Lisa x

From the sound clips I've heard, I quite like them. Mum however has terrible memories of them, as many moons ago a woman in the top flat where she lived played Silvia's Mother very loud. Lisa x

My track by track (although usually written in paragraphs rather than a conventional list) reviews get higher rates than my more generic reviews were I mentioned just highlights/lowlights. I take it as it comes, but if all the key points are covered, and the info is sufficient to convince me to buy it if it was my thing (or otherwise) then the length isn't really important.

I probably won't write one again, but I think as long as you describe the style of the album and then give your opinion on the highs and lows of it, then you can't go wrong. Lisa x

I've written two and I found it difficult! Maybe I should stick to my video game reviews!

I'm bursting to do a Billy Bragg album that's got 40 tracks but I have the feeling a track by track would take me years to write and to be honest, there are some duds on there. How about if I grouped the songs by themes and discussed each? How would that be? (yep, you can tell I've never done a CD or a DVD review - far too scary)

If you do that one track by track, I would be tempted to mark it down !! I think grouping the best of the bunch, the deaders and middle of the road would be the way to go. I want to know the type of music, and the ambiance it gives more than a track listing. Hate track listings ! and a track listing of 40 tracks would be totally unacceptable.

Yep, that would seem the best way to do it. I once did a pop music review of some 11 tracks and mentioned the first five in more detail, while the rest I lumped together "not really that interesting" (though not really that concisely) and concentrated more on the overall package. With 40 tracks, a track by track would be murder._________________ “The Harada Twins were identical in almost every way, yet they were totally different in almost every aspect.” Ford A.
