I have opened the chat bit at the bottom of the forum where members can chat with each other whilst online if they wish to. This is for a trial period to see if members like it or not. Let us have your views.

A chat is a nice idea, but this chat is a pain. I logged in once and the screen was flickering by the many and slow refreshs of the page. Not quite usable...

I'm enjoying the chatroom and catching up with everyone, but agree that the flickering is annoying at times. Lisa x

Its a shame we don't have a sound thing where you can hear if someone says something, so you can carry on with whatever you are doing in between time.

It does flicker but only to update if someone has wrote something so it's quite good Smile

I found mine must have been refreshing slower than other people's for some reason, cos I'd be sat waiting and then it'd refresh and like 6 new messages, all replies to each other would pop up at once

That's just not true. The screen keeps updating even when I'm the only user in the chat room and don't do anything.

And I'm sorry to say that I find the Google Ads in the chat window particularly annoying.

I've only popped in once, but now you have reminded me I will go back.

I only found the flickering annoying when i was trying to read past messages as it kept returning to the bottom of the screen.

Yeah I mean it only keeps doing it to show you if someone has wrote something new, so that when more then one person are in the room you can keep update tongue

Actually Sacsha, there probably is something I can do to make the chatroom better. If I opt to have an advert free site next year and pay for it, then that would presumably get rid of the advertisements in the chatroom and may make the experience better. I shall try.

I'm sure we can put up with the ads if it means saving paying. Funny enough I never noticed them, but then I'm usually doing half a dozen things at once so my mind is usually elsewhere.

I didn't notice them either and I would certainly not expect you to pay extra to stop them appearing! x

I shall look into it and get shot of the ads in the new year or after Christmas.

You name it. That's really funny as they are right in the middle of the pane where typed messages appear. Very Happy
