Having trouble reading your messages....try this.

Whichever book you want to read (private or public) try deleting an old one on that page...you have to click twice on the delete button....and suddenly your new messages appear......well it seems to be working for me anyway and is a darn site quicker than refreshing the page for 20 tries !

I've also found that typing a . and submitting in your own guestbook shows up the missing messages Smile

Don't check my guestbook very often as it rarely gets messages, a couple of weeks ago I checked my PB and found four messages stretching back over a year.

I never check my PGB, unless specifically told. I think I've had about a dozen messages in total. Very Happy

I use them... or rather, on the very few number of times I've sent a PGB message, I've used them or at least pointed people towards the PGB.

I assume people are like me and never check their PGB, so I give them a heads up.

If you know the person you are messaging well, then you know whether they check their PGB regularly. Sometimes it's necessary to let people know they have a message in the PGB - others on this thread have already admitted they check theirs very rarely.

I always delete any >>> really quickly - I think they just reek of 'here's secret gossip going on in the PGB' and they can really wind up other users.

I very rarely use the arrows to send PGB messages but then I have also found that a lot of people just dont read that book unless you tell them to lol!

oh and i tend to find, after experimenting, that if you click on the alert for the message's link then the new messags turn up!

Must admit I only checked it the other day because of this thread and found two messages stretching back over three months that I never knew I had.

I like to maintain some treasured messages in my PGB such as somebody explaining why their friends rate their lousy reviews with exceptionals before revenge rating me, or how one person doubts one member's integrity but still adds him to his COT. Ah, they still make me laugh.
