Given that the chances of one of the home nation teams reaching the finals next year took a nose dive yesterday the obvious pointless question is who would you cheer for in their assumed abscence.

I'm torn between supporting Spain as they are represented by Saint Cesc of Emirates or Poland as they will provide plenty of atmosphere in the pubs in Northampton.

Amusingly, to me at least, the Guardian posed the question today that if a number of geese (on the ground) should be called a gaggle and a group of cows a herd what do you call eleven men in white shirts with three lions as a badge? Answer A Flop.

I can't say I've ever backed the home nations.

I will continue to offer my support (and voice lol) to the Czech Rep. and also Sweden. And Bulgaria, if they can qualify.

I don't think it's quite over yet, Russia could draw in Israel, Scotland could get something from Italy and France at home were lucky to beat Lithuania last night (2-0 in the 80 and 81st minutes by Henry) they have a tricky tie away in the Ukraine. I think there will be a few more twists in qualification yet.

If we don't qualify we only have ourselves to blame. 0-0 at home to Macedonia was a shocker. Also abysmal performances away in Isreal and Andorra.

As a Tottenham fan, its hard for me to say BUT Paul Robinson is seriously overrated. Hes cost Spurs loads of points over the last 2 seasons and now hes costing England.

Spain, prolly.

It's like our second team plus they will have qualified from our group.

I think I'll just book a holiday and go away.

Don't even know where the tournament is going to be but I'm sure it'll be easy to avoid.

My advice is go to Austria, it will be quiet there.
