| 15 quid?sorry to butt in lol but that is really good! I think the ciao meet in france sounds like a good idea though persuading my other half to come too would be difficult as he always says he has never fancied going to france for some reason.
About the recipes...yeah I think that would be a really good idea.It would be good if members could post a piccie of the finished dish too I think....I love looking at food before i even think about trying it lol. | |

| I always like to read recipes for inspiration... I would certainly use a board for recipe sharing. | |

| I can but try I suppose. As for taking longer than Pot Noodles... I think it's worth it as it tastes so much nicer, plus I am banned from eating PN's as I am 'on a Diet'... only lettuce leaves and celery for me | |

| OK - if I did it right a photo of my gorgeoaus soup should be above and the recipe is underneath. Yummy! ##BUTTERNUT SQUASH AND SHALLOT SOUP## Serves 4 large bowls and costs approx £2.50 for the whole lot! Bargain. Ingredients: 1 butternut squash 7 shallots 4 carrots 1.5 pints of veg stock (or chicken stock if you fancy it) Method: Get a roasting tin and cut the butternut squash in half long ways. Lay both sections on the roasting tin (skin side down). Peel the shallots and put next to the squash. Peel the carrots and lay wherever they fit in the tin. Do not add any oil or cooking fat but simply cover with tin foil tightly round the tin and pop in the top of the oven (or bottom if you are already cooking something else which is what I do) on gas mark 7/8 for around an hour and a half. I do not know what electric conversion this is but use whichever setting you would use to roast potatoes, quite high. Once it has roasted and the flesh of all vegetables is soft remove from the oven and place the carrots and shallots in a large Pyrex (or similar) bowl and scoop out the flesh from the butternut squash. Avoid the pips from the squash though. I always scoop these out first and throw them away. Once every thing is in the bowl add the stock and blend with a hand blender or equivalent for a couple of minutes or until the consistency is thick and purified. Serve with home made fresh crusty bread! Yum (well it doesn't have to be homemade but it is nice!) | |

| That looks lovely. I usually make butternut squash and roasted red pepper soup. I have bought a large pumpkin this week and that would work well with your recipe too. | |
