| Lets try with adjectives to describe taste. I can't do it. I am hopeless and many members have the same problem.
Take for example a typical food like macaroni
What words would you use to describe the taste ?

| What a good idea !! No, it was an exercise in description. I cannot describe taste and another member had trouble with food reviews, so I thought why not start a thread and see how people describe things. | |

| I like this - for macaroni I would use: slippery, slimy, filling (although that's not really taste!), plain Now talk about chocolate!! | |

| I don't think you could ever put it into words effectively. It's only becasue people know already what chocolate tastes like that they understand where you are coming from in descriptive words. | |

| blimey - ok here's my attempt. Shoe laces are long pieces of string used to hold your shoes shut. To tie them you need to take the two ends and oh it's too complicated!! What would you say?? | |

What would you say?? I used that once at a job interview as an ice breaker. Split people into pairs and one had to instruct while the other tied. It had hilarious results.

| Shoe laces are an ingenious device made from one long thread like ribbon made of a strong cotton and thread through eyelets, both ends being pulled to tighten the shoe. Taking the two ends, after tightening sufficiently, cross one over the other creating a small knot and pulling, then making two loops with the ends, tie them together and pull the loops, creating a classic finish, in order to secure your shoes upon your feet. | |

First mistake, you never told them to swap hands.

| Shoelaces are basically string attached to a shoe that come out at both ends that are used to tighten your shoes up. Tieing shoelaces-why do you need to explain? I'll have a go. Grab both ends of the lace and cross them over. With your other hand thread the one piece of lace under the next and pull. Then with the one piece of lace, loop in into a tear shape and then, with the other lace, wrap it round once and then (it gets complicated)... between the knot you first made and the tear shaped tread, pull the other lace through in between and pull until tight. Remember to use both hands to do it. See if you can do better. One reson i dont do food reviews is that its hard to describe and i dont have particuarly sensitive taste buds. Back to thelotty business. What are you on about | |

| I think the Lotty was a diversion from the real thread purpose here. Okay you did alright with the shoe laces except they are not attached to the shoes or weren't the last time I looked. | |

Back to thelotty business. What are you on about You did not say change hands or hold them with one hand after crossing so you failed at the first hurdle. believe me, it is a very difficult thing to explain As for the lotte thing, well the record was probably ten years before you were born Mr Walton.
