| Just wondering what consoles people on here own from what I suppose is now considered the 'current' and 'last' gen home consoles? I can't afford any of the newer ones - I've had a PS2 for a couple of years and with so many cheap games I'll probably stick with it for awhile. Also got a Dreamcast recently, decided to get that for £20 rather than a similarly priced GameCube as, once again, the games were much cheaper. |

| "None"? If I were to buy one, I'd probably get a Wii, but having played on one on a mate's 42" monster TV, playing it on anything else is a crime. |

| PS2. I doubt I'm going to bother with the 7th generation of gaming - too many titles of old I would so much rather play. Would like to get a Sega Saturn or Sega MegaDrive next. _________________ "When we started I really did believe 'the good will out, the best will rise to the top'. I no longer believe that. Oh yes, got a lot of use out of my Mega-Drive and the games are about a quid these days. Anyone reckon there are any specialist companies out there that make new pads for retro consoles these days? Mine are a bit knackered... |

Car boot sales are your best bet, or Gamestation. I got some SNES ones for a couple of quid._________________ If you a care assistant, nursing or midwifery auxillary or home carer then feel free to make yourself at home at my new site http://carersuk.talkthis.com/ |

Wouldn't buy pre-owned games from there though, a couple of times i had to return games from there as they didn't work. |

Yeah I got myself some SNES pads, as well as N64 ones - of which I've got like 10 now lol. I'm not familiar with the Mega-Drive pad, but I know I wouldn't buy more NES pads because the build quality - along with the console - isn't great to start with. Might have to look towards building my own...

I dunno, half of my games collection comes from their pre-owned sections lol. Just don't expect them to have tested the games._________________ "When we started I really did believe 'the good will out, the best will rise to the top'. I no longer believe that. | Got a PS2 and a Wii. The later is MILES ahead of the former, truely a fantastic bit of hardware. _________________ Hold a hard drive to your ear - listen to the C:\

| Anyone get the impression the 'next'-gen is struggling to take off? I don't know anybody who owns a Wii or a X360, and only one who has got a PS3 (a friend who got it on launch morning I remember)... Seems a lot of people (myself included) are going for the cheaper stuff - still got so many games to play on the PS2 and I don't have to pay anything like £30-50 for any of 'em. |

| I only ever wanted to play the wii sports to be honest, and even just that has been the best investment - SO much fun when you come in *Bad word* from the clubs! However I love the fact I can play original games from consoles of old. ie NES, Megadrive etc. _________________ Hold a hard drive to your ear - listen to the C:\

| I personally know two guys that have Wiis and have had them since Xmas. Another mate of mine has a 360. As far as 7th gen goes, my conslole owning mates have more 7G stuff between then than previous generations. |

| Certainly I get the impression that the library of games for the PS3 and Wii doesn't seem to have moved much. I'm not at all familiar with the X-Box consoles though. My interest would lean towards the Wii of the new-gen consoles. I got to play Wii Sports recently (still fatigued) and I can see potential. I look to a tennis game where I can pull off slices and drop shots and the like that would be so cool. It would SO be my exercise machine. _________________ "When we started I really did believe 'the good will out, the best will rise to the top'. I no longer believe that.
