Big advert, big promises

Anyone else have to stifle a gasp of 'who do they think they are kidding?' every time that advert pops up with the can of drink and the claims you can become a famous writer and earn lots of money by writing on ciao?

Anyone suspect it could be linked to the amazing amount of bad white dot reviews coming through at the moment?

I wish they wouldn't mislead people with claims of fame and fortune

Haven't been reading much on Ciao so I don't know if this is bringing in a higher rate of new members, but I seen that advert and I agree about it being misleading.

I found this quite funny too, looking at my earnings at trivago for the last two months and comparing it with the amount of money I earned in some 5 years of ciao Germany.

BTW, on ciao Germany they don't have this annoying can ad.

I can't understand why it is on a site we all belong to anyway, its just rubbing our faces in the fact that its so untrue, it should be popping up on other sites to get other peoples hopes up that they can become famous millionairres like us. One day when i'm a famous millionnaire I'll empliy someone to check my spelling

Well, ciao has a quite high page rank and that means that they get a lot of clicks from search results in google, yahoo etc. So it's not only registered users browsing the site...

They obviously observe a decreasing number of new users and want to change that. But if they do themselves good if they create such high (false) expectations... I'm not sure.

Decreasing number of new users? I rather doubt that - have you been over to ciao lately? Some day's you'll struggle to find more than 20% of reviews written by anyone with a dot of any colour whatsoever.
