| I thought I would put this link in regarding eBay as I have a burning question!
Does anyone know if eBay can sort out a seller who over prices Brand New in Box items against high street items/prices?

| No idea at all here. It's ok to post this here for the moment, as I am thinking about where to put ebay as some have requested its return. | |

As long as they are not breaching ebay rules, then I cannot see it being a problem - site wise It is up to individuals to bid, or not bid. If they are breaching some other rule however, then that would be a different story... PM me a link and I will have a look..or have you tried the ebay forum (who would probably say what I have..)

| I think I may put it back and get rid of an unused one as I have had about five requests in the last week. | |

| An items prive/value is determined by what someone is willing to pay for it. If someone is stoopid enough to pay MORE on ebay than the high street, then that is their lookout! | |

| Exactly! I was after a DVD the other day that retailed at the time for about £6. I thought I'd see if I could win it cheaper, if not I'd but it elsewhere. I noticed that people were bidding over £15 for the item, and I ask myself why? I can presume that people get carried away with bidding, and love to be the winner. Lisa x | |

| Ooh ive had a response and so quick too - eBay are going to look into the article as it does appear to be cheaper on the high street against what the seller is charging the customer and that excludes the P&P charges.
People do love to be winners but Im aware of friends going on to do higher bids, but then when someone sits out they are screwed when they win the item!

| I don't understand why the price is being looked into, as I thought sellers could charge what they liked? Lisa x | |

| Yes, by itself, there is no law to say you cannot charge what you like. | |

| eBay have announced greater security changes and I greatly welcome them! Does anyone know if they offer a packing system? Im sure someone told me they used to sell an ideal first time sellers kit of packing boxes and packaging? Im just using my faithful pound shop for reliance on boxes and packaging - helps recycling I suppose.
How do everyone else pack up stuff in general?>

| I tend to buy and sell in equal amounts, so I reuse envelopes that things came to me in. Most jiffy bags and boxes can easily be used several times before they are weakened.
I've never heard of ebay selling packing kits. There are probably sellers offering such things, but I doubt ebay themselves would. I thought ebay was just the launch pad for other people to sell things, rather than selling items for themselves.

| I pack well..I hate shoddy packing...especially if I have been charged a fortune for it.
I will recycle jiffy envelopes though, but otherwise I buy from usual high street sources.
There are lots of people selling packing items on Ebay, but nothing that is Ebay specific

| I do a mix of reusing stuff and buying packaging from wherever is cheap or has a special offer on... I know that I will use it all eventually As to the price I cant see what the problem is. If they are making the price easy to see and no hiding in extra costs to put it up higher then it is up to the seller what price they sell the item at and the buyer if they want to buy it at that price. A better way of putting it would be would you go and complain about Virgin or HMV because the price they sell their DVDs and CDs at is normally (sales apart) much higher than every other shop around?? | |
