| Is it really worth getting? Just phoned up and they said it would cost £129 to get it and install it. Tis WAY cheaper to buy a box on ebay though....
Anyone got any experience of it?

| I love mine, its great for the series link function as you can set and forget. I did Lost and Heroes that way. The only problem is if some bugger messes with it as if they try and record a third thing when you are recording it cancels the other out. Ok if you are single, happens often if you have rowdy kids!
The live pause thing is great too as you can pause it while having a dump or something. Getting it installed is a *Bad Word* if a genuine sky engineer aint doing it though. Check it is before you commit as the sub contractors can be cowboys.
Why £129 though? Ours was £99. (reduced to £49 cos it was a refurb).

| The box is £99 and the installation is £30. Just seems a lot of money for it.
Did they offer you the refurbished one or did you ask for it?

| From what I can tell (cos I'm looking at the same thing, Drew) is that it's slightly expensive for a HD recorder compared to other, quality names on the market but the integration with Sky's EPG really sets it apart.
I certainly know the pain that my parents have, having bought a sht, no-name HD/DVD recorder that we still haven't figured out months later.

Did they offer you the refurbished one or did you ask for it? Haggled for it. I have found that with Sky in general you can usually haggle them down a fair bit. If one bloke is being stubborn, I would hang up and try someone else. It expensive as a HD recorder but soooooooo easy to use and the Anytime TV thing is worth the extra too.

| I have a digi-recorder. Don't get as much channels as Sky, but it's good enough for me. | |

| Finally got it, though it was through a friends and family deal from my mate who works there. Got a brand new one fully fitted for £75 which I think is not too bad.
Pretty impressed with it so far, I like the fact I can set it to record from the net at work. It's also quite good that it will remember where you have stopped viewing stuff that you have recorded - though I only figured that out by hitting the back up button by mistake in the middle of Buffy!!

| sky+ is great and the features are very useful but we are finding that the reception on certain channels is very bad now. The picture sticksd and the sound is constantly sticking too maing it impossible to view. Sky said we needed to reboot teh box everynow and then by switching on and off - what tosh! It makes no difference nad it seems to be highly reported by lots of people who are having teh same problem. | |

| I've been debating whether to get this for months now as i really want one, but have heard that lots of people have had countless problems with it. If I do decide to get it then there is no way I'll be letting one of their engineers set it up. The last time they came they tried to con extra money out of us, we new what their game was and told them so and the bloke started swearing at us and wouldn't leave. He soon shot off though when he was threatened with the police! Lisa x | |

| I don't think they have engineers per se, but rather farm their work out to authorised local Sky technicians.
Chances are, when you look through Yellow Pages, you'll end up using the same people that Sky do anyway.

| Sky have stopped using one installer company due to customer complaints. Who are apparently now contracted to Virgin, interestingly enough. | |
