This bloke is on his last legs with not much left to live. He is hardly a threat to society so should he be released especially given the lack of prison places ?

On the other hand, he was involved in the great train robbery where the driver of the train later died as a result. He also stuck his fingers up to British justice for 20 years.

Where do you stand ?

I think they might as well release him. Whats the point in letting him die in jail - retribution ?

I think that if you can't do the time, you shouldn't do the crime. Just because someone got older isn't a reason for early release.

If he was a rapist or killed someone people would be up in arms if he were to be released, only because it was 'just' a robbery I dont think he should be released. I agree with the above.

If I remember correctly, he lead a very nice live from the proceeds of his crime for a good while. Why should he be released now? It's not like he won't be made comfortable in the end.
