| Not at all. I take Christmas off every year and have a great time with family and friends. Next year, I hope to spend it down under with people that I haven't spent it with for a good few years.
I love it. BUT, there are a load of things that happen before I want to start thinking about it.

November, for example! Edit: People telling me I'm miserable because I don't buy into their concept of Christmas is a bugbear. Christmas these days is crass and offensive, especially when it's being rammed down my throat in *Bad word* September and October.

| I L.O.V.E Christmas, and really cant wait for it this year as it will be my first Christmas at home and first time making the lunch. However, I really hate seeing Christmas things around this early, and have seen things in the supermarkets for the last month. I am quite lucky that my birthday is at the end of November so I always look forward to that before I even think of Christmas. | |

It is completely crass and materialistic with very little thought about Christ in the first place!! I do enjoy Christmas as it happens (as much as anyone in hospitality actually can..) I do enjoy spending time with family at Christmas, getting up early, walking for miles, making dinner together etc. I just don't need to be reminded about it in September...

| Is this an attempt at humour? That's not the first time you've made a reference to my nature when I've commented on Christmas. Please do not do it again. | |

I love the build up of excitement. Chistmas is magical and me and the kids love that feeling. I wouldn't change the commercilaism for the world!

| A lot of people have to start thinking about Christmas early so the shops are only providing something which a section of the public requires.
Commercialism has got over the top in general but isnt that a product of capitalism ??
You cant lay it at Christmas's door. Everyones at it - Banks and financial organisations trying to flog you loans and mortgages. Supermarket flyers on my doormat several times a week. Holiday companies flooding the adverts for months on end from Spring onwards. Etc etc etc

| Christmas is so expensive that I guess many people have to start buying now in order to pace their spending in the run up.
When I was a kid we always went Christmas shopping in the half term holidays (no idea when they are but I guess it must be sometime in October) and then my Mum and Nan would start slipping a couple of extra things into the supermarket shop each week from then onwards.
Me? I go round the supermarket on Christmas Eve and take my chances.

| I leave it to the last minute too. And now we have t'internet at our disposal for anything we want it's easier that way. Last two Christmases I have been on holiday anyway, which was even better - no grocery shopping to do. | |

| People who drive in the middle lane of the motorway when the inside lane is empty, cars should have some sort of wacky races inspired device to remove these people from the roads, preferably one that sees them swept into a huge rubbish skip and dumped in Swindon. | |

Ah yes, the CLOC - central lane owners club. My mum's one of them. I'm so ashamed of her. They work on the principle that they aren't stopping anyone from overtaking. Take the lot out and shoot them - that's my wishy washy liberal opinion on that one. And then we'll turn on the caravan owners!

It's tempting to try to make a point but these folk are on their own planet and it's not worth cutting them up because they are away with the fairies. Give them as much space as you'd give any other driver when you pull over into the middle and then the slow lane.

Oh yeah, caravan owners should be put into a compacter whilst insde their caravans with the chemical loo lid off and then they will walk around with their legs sticking out of the bottom of their cubed mobile home looking like spongebob squarepants.

| I wonder what is going on in people's heads when they buy a caravan and stick it on a towbar on the back of their vehicle then proceed to Cornwall on a Bank holiday weekend at 45mph, all in the name of fun... | |

Give them as much space as you'd give any other driver when you pull over into the middle and then the slow lane. I dont cut them up (sorry I do realise I didnt make it very clear), I just over take and then move into the 'slow' lane, but giving them enough distance, just to make a point that they can and should move over. most people prob' dont get the point but it makes me feel better and in my opinion is far better then just driving up close behind them and flashing them etc, which I tend to see a lot.

| It is pointless trying to give them a message in any way, as they own the road | |

Too poor to afford cars and us rich southernes have no desire to visit as a pipeline transports all of our oil down to us.
