Dont see where she's coming from. I cant think of anything more quintessentially British and patriotic than the last night of the Proms. Very glad shes been slapped down.

I would be a socialist if it worked. i certainly would vote Labour if they were proper old fashioned lLabour.

However how can Margaret hodge slnder the proms

How does she know. Do you have to have a Equal Opportunities form before you go to the Proms.

I find this patronsising to myself and too those who have come to Britian, as i know most do try and fit in and live their lives.
The one person I do know that will go to the proms is Bulgarian born!

I know we live in a multi cultural society. i enjoy Chinese new year and am fascinates to hear about colleague's cultures but I am at the end of the day i am Scottish and British.

The Last night of the proms is unique. it's jolly good fun and eccentric.
