| Well I suppose it's fair to say that song really was a bit of a turkey.
If only we could have understood what he was saying.

| It is acyually a clever tactic, enter so you look willng but firstly ensure you get knocked out in the semis so you do not have to endure the voting system that favours the Balkan block vote and secondly you make sure you do not have to host the whole thing which is very costly.
Anyway the whole show is one big tourist advert for the host country.

| "Eastern Europe we love you Do you like Irish Stew"
Can the lyrics get any better than that?

| I say this every year, but- why the hell don't we just pull out of Eurovision??
I love Eurovision, it's tacky and funny to watch, but we pump so much money into it and get nothing in return; and unless we win, which with 'new europe' is never going to happen, we are never going to see any return.
On Saturday you just knew who was going to vote for who, and it's just turned into a political kiss ass. I honestly believe that for one the UK was in the top 5 acts, and yet we come last and even worse, the likes of Spain got more points then us!
Eurovision was invented to bring Europe together, but now all it does is prove how seperated we all.
Balkans, Scandinavia, Baltic region and the former Soviet states all vote for each other, so what is the point for us to continue?
I would like to see how far the competition went without the funding of the UK, Germany, Spain and France.

| I agree! I saw the first half, fell asleep and then was flabberghasted in the morning to learn that our noble dustman came last. We'll never win but credit where credit is due he had a song and he sang it well.... as for the brides and their washing line....
I think Dustin had the right idea!

| I hate to say it but we did have the only black singer in the competition and I think the racist attacks our footballers have suffered when playing in eastern Europe mean that's never going to be a vote winner. Though if we'd dressed him as a daffodil and sat him in a bath of baked beans he might have drawn a few more votes.
OK, his song wasn't the most memorable, had more than a passing resemblance to an old Madonna tune, but the worst? not by a very long way. Even MALTA didn't vote for us this time and they can usually be depended upon. Only Ireland and San Marino (?????????) could be bothered to give us any points.
The ritual humiliation has gone too far - let's get out and leave it to the Easterners to vote for their friends because clearly we don't have any any more. Funny that they all love our language though - with even the Germans and the French (sacre bleu!) all singing in English.

| Perhaps this is why we created BRitain's Got Talent - to prove to ourselves we do...
I watched most of the final of that last night, I must say I was hoping for one of the young classical singers to win, rather than the two that were eventually first and second (names escape me!)

| I thought the boy who won was brilliant, I really loved the dance he did. However, that show is just a huge joke. You turn up with a story and you get through, simple as! Other then the lad who won, I thought the lass from Kettering (yayy!!) was just fantastic and has such a voice for a 12 year old, and the women playing the violins were great too. Anyone see I'd do anything? I am ashamed to admit I love that show (it's Barrowman's fault ) and was so pleased Jodie won. | |
