Do you ever read a review which gives what seems like a valid complaint, but that does not tell the whole circumstances surrounding the complaint in such a way that you are convinced whether the opinion is a fair one ? How would you deal with rating a review like this. ?

If the whole of the review is about the complaint and does not actually provide any other detail about the product then it is either H or SH at best as for me it is only giving one account of poor service or a faulty product and with the best will in the world even the best companies get it wrong some of the time.

I would even rate it NU if the account is nothing more than a rant with little detail in it. One such review I read recently left me with no idea of what the actual product did or was used for as it was some techno bit of kit with a long name which meant absolutely nothing to me.

I don't know if they still do (and I can't be arsed to check at the moment) but Ciao used to have a Buyer Beware category for just such instances.

That's what I thought as well. Perhaps it would be more appropriate there, although with a buyer beware I would want to know the whole story rather than just a one sided rant.

I also read a review recently that was really well written and told me all about how bad the company was but I had no idea what they primarily sold or where on earth they were, so had to rate SH.
