I have started up a review site, www.hbpboard.co.uk which is mainly for the health and beauty industry. Review salons, spas, gyms, products, treamtments etc, and have a general chat! Its free to join!

Looks great hun. How much are the coins worth?

The coins are not worth anything, but they are later exchanged for goodies. I havent launched the shop for it yet, but it makes sence for people to start collecting now.

How much do you think they will be worth? I don't want to spend a year to collect a million points and find out that only gets me one lipstick.

Its a fair question...and the true answer is...i have not yet figured it out.


It would most probably be common sense though...100 points get you 10% discount...

5000 get you a £50 voucher...

Something on those lines...Im still coming up together with sponsors and prizes.

On the other hand...why are people so obsest with earning things...i just do it all for fun! I dont get paid to be in this forum, but i still am...if you see where im coming from.

Sorry hun I didn't mean that. I mean you give us £2 to join because 5000 points is £50 so 200 points is £2.

It looks really good because you've only been posting for a week, and there are only about 5 posts there and you've got 1000 points (£10). It seems good but until you have a sponsor it doesn't mean anything. At least when I dedicated myself to Ciao they paid out.

I have to say I don't think it's very fair for you to keep all the points for yourself if your not being paid.

You should share all your points out with everyone else, otherwise you're cooking the books and skimming off the profit for yourself. That's fraudalent. Sorry hun, but I don't like the way your going about things. It's early days and you can pull it around, but you had better get it right soon or you could have big problems.

I realy dont understand. Everytime you post, you get points. When i post, i get points. The thing is though, that my points dont count for anything.

I dont want to be taking all the prizes available..im the admin of the board! I dont want the prizes! I want everyone else to have the prizes! This is part of my own business - www.hairandbeautypages.com - and i dont want to be corrupting it!

And anyways, the points can also be used for other things, such as buying the virtual lottery tickets (this is still to come!). I dont want my board to be a way of me making money. I want it to be where people go and have fun, win prizes, share ideas and have a laught!

It will be mostly points.

Heres a question which i would like your truful answer to:

What if i were to change the coin system alltogether? Instead of trading in for goodies, how about, top 3 people of the month win prizes? And at the end of every month, all points are nullified, so that its fair...

Do you think this would encourage people to post in the forums? Also, having in mind that when you refer people, you would get coins too.

Oh, and by the way, posting in the clender also gives you points.

It's good when sites award the top people. In the good old days Ciao did this and it worked really well.

So would you say that this is a better idea untill i get the forum to be buzzing with people?

Yes. When you have a sponsor it will be a brilliant website.

On the other hand, a sponsor is not realy neccesary, having in mind the prizes can come out of my pocket, or the companies!

I would realy appreciate it if some people signed up and started posting on the site. When i have a decent amount of people, i will then start buying the prizes. Untill then, i would just love it if people can have a buntter and talk about some products and places they have used and been.
