it is and i completely agree. I apply that approach all the time in business, fix it and move on. Mods are definitely only human. If taking "on Dooyoo" out of my comment was simply an error in modding judgement, then that is fine with me.

Problem is if there is going to be a black and white no mention of review sites and review site members here, it might be dissolving the actual glue that brought us here in the first place.

Sorry, that was rude. But honestly! People aren't fick - they can tell the difference between somebody making a possibly false accusation, holding up someone to abuse or ridicule or touting for reads and a normal conversation. And if they can't tell the difference, then they're terminally fick and there's nothing modding can do about that.

I've pretty much given up posting here, because if you're not on the damn place 24/7, you can't have a bloody conversation, as every time you come back the threads have all changed beyond recognition. It's too irritating for words.

Rachel - I understand you want to take responsibility for any modding errors as it's your site. But taking responsibility means acknowledging the errors, not faffing and waffling and all this bollocks. Why don't you just say, "Sorry chaps. There's been some mad modding going on and things will get back to some semblance of sanity now. We all cock up from time to time, so I expect we'll probably do it again, but at least we've now got this one sorted. Mention names if you want, of course, just don't make accusations, be abusive or ridicule people. Cheers!"

Thing is, you did lose two (I hope) sensible and light-handed mods as a result of this fiasco.

It's again working with the spirit of the law rather than the exact letter.

I feel like there is one ADMIN here (what's with the capitalisation of the roles, anyway?) who, if she were a manager in a company, would dock your pay if you were once two minutes late for work, and explain "well, you know the rules, and besides, I didn't make them."

So if I post 'George', will I be modded again? If I post a list of baby names (for whatever reason, but so long as there is nothing rude or accusatory in the posting) will it stay?

I expect George will stay put unless he becomes a famous ciaoer or dooyooer.

If you think the conversation has run its course stop contributing to it or lock the thread. You are trying to make changes and I applaud you for that but you cannot complain if we are debating the merits of the current policies.

Members themselves are sick and tired of the conversation. It is like a replay of a television series over and over and over and over. I do not see it as a personal attack. Read the threads. See what the changes are. I have answered people. I have listened to people. I have spent my whole weekend trying to please everyone but still here it goes, on and on. I have explained in this thread what is acceptable NOW and what is past is past, but still it goes on and on.

If members allow me the privilege of it, which personally I doubt.

Thing is, it wont always go your way and it wont always go my way or daves, but trying to work it out is better than hiding it.

I think, Rachel, to be fair, therein lies your problem. You'll never please everyone. That's in the nature of life.

The only way you can please everyone here is to ensure that the only people here are easily pleased.

People like me, Angus, Dave and Jill, I think it's fair to say, have high expectations. We value freedom, common sense, fairness and ethical behaviour (well, maybe not the last for Angus, hah).

Others here value friendliness, agreement, fluffyness and harmony above all else. That's not a dig, merely a fact. So you cannot possibly please everyone.

My recommendation? Think. Decide what will work best for everyone - not what will please everyone. Decide what is fair for everyone - not what will please everyone. Decide what is right not necessarily what is popular.

That's my thoughts, for what they are worth.
