MEN VERSUS WOMEN IN THE HOUSEWORK STAKES.

Who does which jobs in your house, and which jobs are a definite NO NO for either you or your partner ?

My husband refuses to

Clean the cooker,
Wash the tiling
Clean mirrors.

He is good at

Washing up.

My other half doesn't really do anything, and when he does he is so rubbish at it that I usually end up going around behind him doing it all again. Poor me!

I know the feeling. My other half's idea of cleaning the floors is a quick brush !

I cook.
wash up,
hoover,
dust,
rubbish out.
cobweb patrole.

I dont

iron (as I burn everything and am shit, not becuase I refuse to)
wash clothes (shrink or run colours)


I sometimes.
wash the bathroom/toilet.
stuff

I live alone so.... no-one. Ha, obviously thats not true I am the model of domesticity.

hey, I am all for equality, especially in the pub.

my partner and I take it in turns...infact he does more housework then me.

I always do the hoovering and clean the front door brass as I am rubbish at dusting/ironing/washing. I do manage to fill up the magic laundry basket.I operate the remote control ,video recorder, mobile phone and PC. What is a cobweb patrol?

Good grief, you don't know what cobweb patrol is ! You must live in a very untouched by spiders house ! I do cobweb patrol here.

We get a lot of spiders and the spin their webs in the corners of the room. Our room is quite high so |I tend to be the man who removes them. Besides, Sherry hates spiders.

I do everything in the house if it needs doing. Jo does the decorating and DIY as I am an absolute clutz when it comes to these things.

Jill: cooks, cleans, gardens, launders, works approx 20 hours.

Michael: DIYs, irons, hoovers, works approx 40 hours

Shopping jointly shared and hated.

I wonder what jobs are, in your household, ones that either of you refuses to do. I don't clean toilets. Not sure why it happened like that but Graham always does it. He won't clean the oven at all ever. It's strange how jobs seem to be specific to one person or another. Ironing - I love it but do not do very much at all these days, preferring to fold things as soon as they are washed, but Graham has never used an iron.

Knackers to that, you old git! I moved to Devon to either sit on my arse or wander about in my wellies. Twenty hours is more than enough, thankee.

I don't put out the rubbish. I don't iron. Michael doesn't wipe down the darn worktops after making a sandwich.

Yeh I think the worktops is a man no go area.

We live in an agricultural area and are hence plagued with flies in the summertime. Michael hates flies. He moans constantly about flies. But he leaves crumbs on the worktop, sitting next to a dirty butter knife.

Go figure.

Yeh I understand that one. We live next to a place that has horses, and there are always flies around. Clean worktops, nothing smelly or foody left out and its fine.

I cook on Sunday, Andy does everything else. I am very spoilt. Yesterday when I came in after a 10 hour shift he had made a fab meal of stuffed tomatoes on a bed of stick vegetables with a salsa sauce for me. Then he went out and bought a nice bottle of wine and let me quaff most of it. And never once did he complain about my stinky feet (the kids did though).
I offer to do stuff round the house but he likes to do it all, as I said before I am very spoilt.

You are not kidding !!! Does he de-smell your shoes ? Graham threw my trainers out the back door.

Our spiders are protected and highly trained. Occasionally they forget to put the bins out but otherwise the are well behaved. They do tend to get to the bath first and have to be helped out the window by Mrs Silver.
