No not the tediously over-repeated sitcom...

I just noticed that someone who once really laid into me on Ciao (because I left a very valid and fairly made comment on the review of one of his friends) has added me to his friends on Dooyoo and doesn't even realise it's the same person he was so abusive to.

Then I had a quick glance and I saw he has added just about every writer anyway.

Does it matter to you if someone adds you to their trusted list? - of course it is flattering but I wouldn't necessarily make a beeline for their reviews just because they had added me.

I know people have their own reasons for who they choose but this seemed to be choosing EVERYONE!

AKA one of the best sitcoms ever........!

On a serious note, can I just ensure that this is kept as general as possible?

Well they are obviously trying to get return reads.

I don't mind people adding me to their COT but I do find it strange when I get added by someone who has never read any of my reviews... I don't bother checking them out then.

Don't have a clue why it is done myself. When i first joined dooyoo (before the change of profile page etc.) i found friends lists helpful to find people, now though i don't so much so don't even see the point in adding people. Though i think you got it right in saying it was probably to get a few more reads (though as you said i doubt it will make a difference). The list could be made into a two-way thing so you have to accept to be added. Although a little harsh if people like you but do crap reviews, it could sort it out.

Doesn't really bother me as I don't use it all and can't for the life of me even notice when somebody does add me (apart from an e-mail notification).

But I did have one guy on Ciao who didn't like how I rated his work, but added me to his Cot anyways. It was a funny contradiction.

I don't really pay attention to who has added me. The list loses its value by having muppets add you for no reason without reading your reviews etc.

I only really care about the list that I know I can control i.e. the people I trust.

Yes indeed - but repeated more than is necessary. I reckon it is possible to browse the channels at anytime of day or night and find an episode of Friends...

I agree - but it is sometimes nice to know that someone respects your opinions.

I usually end up adding people after I have read them a few times, but I don't use it afterwards so it does seem a bit pointless lol

I use my list as a quicker way to do a member search on my favourite writers. I rarely realise if someone has added me.

I find it an invaluable resource for stalking people, usually if people add me to their list I ask to borrow money, then you find just how deep their trust is.
