One of the most important things when rating a review is to look at the section in which the review is posted. I have seen loads of VH ratings on reviews that have nothing to do with the subject and wondered, just because the review is long and says a lot, do people not look at where it was placed ?

I am guilty of this sometimes I think. Usually I look at the topic before the title so when I read it I know what it is meant to be about. Occasionally though, there are writers that I always read so tend not to look at the sections, just the review and if it's good I won't even realise they might be in the wrong category.

It's actually a lot easier on dooyoo than it is on ciao especially if you are going in from the new review list. Look at the subject matter before clicking onto the review and you will find it easier.

It occurred to me that a lot of dooyoo members have come over from ciao and are worried about revenge ratings on dooyoo. I don't think its an issue on dooyoo at all. You still get paid even though the rating may not match your expectation. If a review is off topic, it is in the wrong place. Something I noticed on dooyoo which may help users, is that if you rate a review and back it up with a comment, people usually understand and do not revenge rate. tell it like it is, and they seem to understand. For example, when I pop a VHS review into the DVD slot. Basically its my own fault. When its moved, people can rerate, but if I get bad ratings or in this case realistic ones, then I deserve them.

No matter who writes a review, making sure it is in the right place when you rate should be the main priority because wrongly placed reviews do not help the public very much at all.
