Yeh it was my first. Never asked for one before, as usually vouchers are just as good although I have been disappointed with amazon purchases of late.

I always go for cheques and they are always through the letter box within a week of cashing in...sometimes much quicker.

I've always gone for vouchers as I feel I have a reason to spoil myself then. If I asked for cash I would feel more likely to pay it off the overdraft or credit card! lol

Must admit I always go for vouchers, the ones I get between now and xmas will be saved and the kids can have all their presents from Amazon this year. As my son is into x-box games that will be no problem for him.

Yes Lou, they are pretty quick off the mark with the cheques. Mine came quicker than I anticipated.

(sorry for bringing up an old thread but I didn't wanna make a new one when there is one with the right title already here lol)

I got my first Dooyoo cheque today. I was a little surprised to see a handwritten envelope and a hand written cheque. For something I had perceived as a big company I would have thought the process would have been automated. Is hand written the norm?

I just got my first payout at the weekend and I also quite liked the personal handwritten cheque - lovely handwriting too. I thought it must be a payment for something I'd flogged on ebay so I was surprised - also happy it came so soon.

It seems that having paid in cheque is quite easier and faster because it took more than a month for my first Amazon voucher, and I ask for my second voucher which took two weeks to process.

I did my first order from Amazon last week and to date I havent received it yet. I checked the package reference route and it already dispatched 3 days upon purchase from Amazon, but I found out that it is still being hold in the local courier. I dont know why...

I on the other hand find the vouchers very much of use. I've ordered several CDs from Amazon (the latest being the 2-CD Ben-Hur complete recording) and they have always been on time, sometimes even a day ahead from when the estimated arrival is. If it's in stock, I found the processing doesn't take long and often a week is about all I need to wait. I'd call that pretty efficient as some Finnish sites I've ordered stuff from almost without fail tend to spend at least a month to send anything.

Why order stuff from Finland there must be somewhere closer to Bury that you could order from.

The disadvantage that I find with amazon vouchers is that you can only use them against new items. If you buy books at the new price, you lose out, because the same books are available second hand much cheaper.

ah but then you have to pay £2.75 postage for each item from the market place, so it isnt so cheap for buying

I always order off amazon £15 or more, then get the free postage..I find they are very competitive then.
