We have all discussed what we do not like in Speakers Corner, i.e. the top tens, and scant reviews, but what would people consider to be useful to the viewing public in an area like speakers corner ? Just curiosity.

I think we need more My Top Three categories because the top ten and top five have been done to death.

I agree, lots and lots of top 3 opinions. I don't think Dooyoo are adding any more categories to SC in future so that may render a discussion about what folks want to see in there a bit redundant. 'Tis a shame.

I thought that it was top tens that they had put on hold. What about getting rid of all the crappy ones that have never been written in and trying to structure it to be more useful ?

Quote from Dave

Quote :
Bit of news people. There will be no more top ten style product suggestions being accepted by dooyoo. In fact there will be very little added to SC at all unless dooyoo deem it VERY worthy of addition.

For me I would like to see some more topical debate style topics being added on such themes as education, world politics and ethical issues.

Something that would prompt diverse views and opinions and encourage people to be creative.

Even Member Advice categories are getting ridiculous though. I can see some value in them sometimes, but when you get titles as ridiculous as "Member Advice on Pickling Onions when living in Peru" then it gets ridiculous and is more about the member imparting their specialist knowledge more than there is any great need for it

NOTE: any resemblance to any real review category is unintentional. affraid

I like topics in Speaker's Corner that ask interesting questions. Things like:

" Do you find armpits sexually appealing?"

or

" Do you always have sex on the first date?"

or

" Nipples or knees? Discuss."

As long as the writer is answering a question, then I quite like the category. But Dooyoo should never pay 3p per read for it. That's what encourages the dross.

I'd love to see more of these sort of well-founded debates in the SC.

Drew - if you don't have sex on the first date, how do you know whether you want a second date or not?

Why not make them "Up to my Top Ten favourite..." that way the lesser-attention keeping Dooyoo Chruner can only add one or two and wont get stressed out at trying to think of padding for the rest?

te latest all time cop out was a top five superheroes that named two wrote about four words about them and then said something like..."I don't like any of the others". And that earns money? I'm doing this all wrong.

I will leave it behind the bar!

You will have to put the other £3.91 to it, if you want to actually buy a drink though!

I'd love to see less top tens personally....they have been done to death at the moment........and instead more about useful things which may actually help someone......like member advice on coping with....(insert illness/ailment) or something along those lines....something which may actually help the ordinary consumer who visit the site as a means of finding information..... :-)
