A bit inappropriate really as it's not an event as such, but I suppose the Breton Dancers could be.

I just presumed you were trying to upload sections of the dvd not the whole thing thats why I suggested it. At least you knew which bit I meant which I suppose is a step forward Neutral

I much prefer written reviews as well, and I'd rather Ciao stuck to them. Decent money for anyone who can put themselves forward though.

Perhaps a video review should be complimented with some writing. I don't want to waste watching time on someone telling me who they are, the product they are reviewing and the fact they are doing it for Ciao etc when this could be stated in writing. I don't know if Ciao could be allowed to stamp something on the video to indicate this?

Saying that I don't want video reviews to be popular, is this evil of me to do so?

Had a look at the announcement on the member page today regarding the video reviews (I think they are more popular in other countries) and had to laugh.

I don't get how a video becomes a t-shirt lol. And if it was a screenshot, from the video I'd just made, I'm not sure I'd ever want to parade around wearing a shirt with my own picture on it !!

That's a good one. Clearly it was written by a German. The German word for "to get", "to receive" is "bekommen". Because this sounds very similar to "become" and the fact that the verb "to come" is "kommen" in German, many Germans get confused about "become" and "bekommen". Laughing Laughing

lol. I dont think I could do a video review. I like the fact that as a member online you have a certain anonymity even if there's a facilty on the Ciao profile for a picture. And its bad enough Ciao have certain rights to your review as it is, I wonder what they would do if they had many product videos? Im envisaging someone being used as a major advertising campaign.

Interestingly enough I have only ever seen one home made vac demo video made by a company rep and it took longer for her to dismantle the machine than actually showing a demo of it!

You guys read the part about video reviews in this months newsletter?

A total of "£2,400 split between the three best in the following categories:
'Most professional'
'Most up-to-date product'
'Best in action'

Seems almost worth it to reveal yourself (not really) I was wondering, there hasn't been exactly been loads of them so there is that chance if you submitted one...

What do you guys think?

The thing is whenever Ive actually gone to look at one of the video reviews, the member who did it seems to have been removed from the Ciao platform. Perhaps its an easy way to say goodbye?

I'm dipping back into Ciao after another sabatical, and I'm amazed to see people are actually doing these! Admittedly not many, and I still haven't brought myself to watch one, but they exist! I'm astounded.

That is a brillaint category for the cafe, Ciao Suicide although the category Top Ten Suicides will be a tough one.

I can't think of anyone that has been removed, or did you actually mean become an inactive member?

I can't see anything on the actual site about the competition in the newsletter, do you think maybe there have not been enough video reviews?

Man, one of those "video reviews" is not really a review. To think that you would get paid for it as well!
