We have had a Megane. They drive well but are relatively short on boot room. They have plenty of hidey holes though. Windscreen wipers have an annoying habit of flicking water back onto the screen when it rains.

Best thing about the Megane is the leg room in the front. There is LOADS!

Seat Leon. Its nicer than the new model, has 5 doors and VW parts. Having had one for a short period the only thing which I didnt like about it was the quality of plastics in some of the areas of the car. The old Toledo is a bargain but that's a saloon.

Dont get a Renault ... they're rubbish, poor build quality, sub standard wiring for the engine electrics leads to many weird engine breakdowns after... not that many miles, "Energy" engine prone to oil leaks from head gasket.
German or Jap' tend to be more reliable and built better, but even these suffer form computer/sensor glitches
and poor earthing of important engine management systems. (new cars....paaahh rubbish !!)

Ford Zetec's OK especially Yamaha 1.25 litre in Focus, Fiesta versions but like all Fords front lower wishbone bushes / swivels suffer premature failier, strange knocking noises from the body etc ... normally knocked out by speed bumps / traffic calming etc (baserds!)
Seat cars much better than they used to be, and pretty good nowadays.
I personally love cars at around the 90- 95 era... but what do I know!! personal opinion (as per!)

I am after a new car now, I have a Ford KA at the moment and I like the size, but I want something 5 door but still only a small run around that I can fit pram, shopping etc in.

Any ideas?

My sis went for a Hyundai Accent when she had her kid as you get a bigger car for the money. My mum has had one in the past as well and they are really very good cars.

No probs. It really is about the smallest you can get away with for a pram though (which is a REALLY strange thing for me to be giving advice on!!).
