okay I Hoffman doesn't win the best acting Oscar for this tomorrow then the woprld is seriously askew! I have always though he was very good but this performance is way above good.
I have no real clue as to who Truman Capote is/was but the film is just superb. Capturing the times and attitude of the era and showing how a man can become completely obsessed by something.
If it turns up anywhere near you it is well worth a trip to the cinema for.

A biopic, at the Oscars. How strange.
In seriousness though, I've yet to see it, I often take a long time to watch films like this. Hoffman really has been going from strength to strength of late. I first took proper note of him when he did Magnolia.
What stuck me most about Capote though was it's screenplay comes from Dan Futterman, of Shooting Fish fame, and who my better half thinks is rather cute! Hmrumff! I know he's a mate of Hoffman and Miller, and it's an adaptation, but I never knew he was into writing. Then to get a nomination.
