| I bought a denim and fake fur gilet for 99p - and it's smart yet warm and as I work for a building contractor where I'm in and out of the office all day (popping into the woodshed you understand!) I can honestly say this is the best thing I've bought off ebay! I reckon I've worn it practically every day since last November!!! | |

Now that sounds like a good deal. The best deal that I got from Ebay was about a year ago when I decided to look for Thomas the tank engine items. I came across a few "My first Engines" that where all sitting at 1p each. I put in a max bid of £1.00 on each one and then forgot all about them. I got an invoice a few days later to say I had won 4 for a total of 70p and £3.00 postage which was super. I also got a Thomas xmas stocking last Jan for 99p BNIP and only the other day I got a Turtle VHS for my son for 10p Just shows there are deals out there |

| I have just bought a superman outfit so that I can walk around the streets of Bournemouth claiming to be Soaperman and hand out leaflets to the shop.
I can see one of two things happening here and I hope the police are friendly.
Yes, you can have pictures when I do it!

| Can we put it in the pin up area in the over 18's. Not sure that wearing tights will suit you. | |

| Shall have to invest in some decent specs. I just read the last post and I thought it read: "I bought some old lucas tights to go on the back of my classic mini".
Flashing disco boots, as well?

| Following on from marcellep's thread, I would like to ask what is the item/s you have sold that have made the most profit ?
For me, I have three items that spring to mind. In Jan 2004, a new magazine hit the shelves titled "Retro Gamer". Later in the year, the magazine proved quite popular, and there was a lot of demand for back issues. I had kept mine, so listed it on eBay, and my £5.99 investment netted £68 !!
Next up, (and a hint to all readers !), is junk mail ! I had two instances last year where I was sent unrequested "promotional" merchandise through the post. Whereas most people throw it away, I consider what it could be worth to some (desperate) eBayer out there. The first instance was a "dossier" sent out by Channel 5, to promote there new series, C.S.I. New York. (This actually hit the headlines, as there were some sick images enclosed, and it was eventually banned). The final price for this "freebie" ?!? £38 !! Then, just a few weeks later, I was sent a cardbox sleeve to put two CD Singles that were due to be released by the group "System Of A Down". Again, I put it on eBay - starting at 1p with a comment "I got it free - it's up to you, the loyal S.O.A.D. fans as to what it's worth". The result was £27 from a french buyer !!
Can anyone top these ? I'd love to know...

| Mine was a wooden spoon found in a house when we bought it and worth very little here indeed. I sold it for 17.00 pounds plus postage | |

| Remember Flat eric from the Levi ads? well, me and my sister bought one each on sale from clintons- for £1.99 a go- I sold mine for £12. My sisters however only sold for 99p- its the luck of who's on and when! | |

| That's true - also once word gets around of items selling at a high price, more items get listed, hence lowering the price.
Another hint is elaborating on your descriptions / keywords. I recently sold an awful horror film - it was low budget and not readily available in the shops. It was called "Shakma, the killer baboon", and that sold for £21 on VHS !!

| A couple of years ago I noticed that buyers where paying an awful lot for a particular Dior eyeshadow pallette. I had one of those, only used a couple of times and had been in a drawer for over 12 months. So I cleaned the compact up etc and put it on ebay. Bearing in mind that I think at the time these compacts could actually bought new for about £22, my used Dior eyeshadow compact fetched £23!!! Some buyers never cease to amaze me! | |

| Doh! Silly me! I forgot the fact that they cost nowt in the first place! I've got a load of phone cards I got as freebies (Orange, O2 etc) but haven't bothered loading them onto ebay because I noticed that the same ones were advertised as say, BIN 99p but with no buyers.... so the seller would have to pay the ebay fees on something they got for nowt. Wish I could get hold of some of the fancy cards (themed) as they seem to be worth a bit. | |

| I get all kinds of free CDs in my job which I then sell on EBay. I sold a Style Council Live CD a few months ago for about £15. The buyer emailed me to say "thanks so much for selling this, I've been searching everywhere for it". Clearly he didn't look very far as it was available on Amazon for less than £5 new. Also had two people get into a bidding war for a James Last Christmas album (seriously!) - it went for £26. This was also available on Amazon for £3.33. People are odd indeed. But I'm certainly not grumbling! | |
