| Can we try to keep this none specific please. Rules of the forum are that we do not point specifically to any member or review. | |

You can always paste the stuff back into google translate, it could come up with the german original (or very close to it) and it would have been easy to see if it was copied. (Yes, I was sad enough to try)

Talking specifically about members as opposed to generalisation.

Which statement brought about the wrist slapping? - koshka wrote:

Neither of these two statements is any worse than: - Silverblue wrote:
- Have only recently reported a "very clever" guy (on ciao though) - he just copied reviews from ciao Germany, got them translated by google translator (or something similar) and posted them on ciao UK.....
which has seemingly gone "unpunished" and is as traceable/specific, if not more, than the other posts.

| Then slapped wrists to all of em. We have limited time and can only act on reports of posts by members. If any member sees a post they think should be looked at, there is a report button. | |

| Sorry to be picky but I don't think any of us were being specific - we didn't name names and we didn't say what the reviews were about so I'm a bit miffed if I'm getting a smack for that. NOBODY who didn't already know about this reviewer would have found them on the basis of what was written.
If we can't write about people copying in a thread called 'copying' then I'm disappointed.

| Okay point taken. I was probably a bit hard on all of you. If anyone does see a posting that can easily reveal a person or their reviews, do report it though as its a good way of making sure the forum runs smoothly. | |

| I remember a big influx in copied reviews a year or so ago, especially with regards to games - I actually got messages commending the fact I'd written a game review that wasn't copied lol | |
