I think we are in danger of slipping into a bit of tabloid xenophobia here, the McCanns (british) = good
the Police (foreign) = corrupt and bad

Let's not forget that we are getting pimarily the McCann version of events coupled with unauthorised leaks from the Portugese media and that the 'good old' British police have also been involved in the investigation...

I'm still not sure what to make of all this...

I am with you that I really dont know what to make of it all TBH, and yeah it is all the McCann's version, but I still do think at first the police cocked it up in various ways, although as you said, it has been made out in the media that the police over there are just crap.

Thats becuase they are !!

The 'crime scene' was allowed to be used by other holidaymakers before a full forensic sweep of the room was completed. The only word that CAN be used for that is inept.

I find it bizarre that they have issued that artist impression of an abudcter though. Surely that is the police's job.

I dont understand why people are turning against Kate because of the TV interview they did, all because she showed a bit of emotion.

One of the main critisisms of her has been her lack of emotion and when she shows some she gets critisized a whole lot more. She cant win.

I think it's the Scouse factor.

For as long as she kept her mouth shut people could believe her. Once she opened it, they hear the accent and jump to conclusions.

Sounds daft but we did debate this at work yesterday over lunch and even my scouse colleagues agreed that the public don't believe a word that's spoken by anyone from Liverpool.
