FORUM RULES Empty
PostSubject: FORUM RULES   FORUM RULES EmptyMon 27 Feb 2006, 10:52

As we are getting more and more people joining the forum, we have been discussing what would be good rules for the forum. Myself I can't handle the pettiness of some forum etiquette like no capital letters and stupid things like that so they will never come into play here, but there are certain ones that would make the forum a lot easier for members to understand and which are really common sense.

1.Swearing and offensive language. Yes, we all let of steam sometimes, we are all human beings but I believe that really bad swearing should be edited out, not really out of rules but our of decency towards other members.

2.Off topic postings are less frequent lately. Thanks for that. The trouble is that although its ok to go off topic and I am as guilty as everyone else, we do have to work extra hard to remove the postings later because otherwise when new members go to read threads, they don't make a lot of sense. Not a hard and fast rule here but we would ask members to try, and also to understand that if their postings are removed then it is simply to put subjects back on topic again. Please try and help us by keeping on topic, and if you notice a thread going badly off topic, which annoys you, please let us know.
3.Any advertising of your own reviews is a no go.
4.Direct insult aimed at any person is also a no go. This will be removed. By all means discuss issues, though not individuals.
5.Naming is a no go, and here we will moderate. (this includes hinting or pointing to other sites that could confirm the identity of another party)
6.Using your ciao/dooyoo name is an accepted practice on this site

If any member wishes to discuss the rules or any area they do not understand, please contact Drewboy, Thingywhatsit or Sirg who will try and help in any way they can.

Moderators have been asked to moderate all postings that break the rules, including things that they feel are racist or pornographic.

PostSubject: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FORUM USERS.   FORUM RULES EmptyFri 12 May 2006, 12:20

When you become a member of this forum, you agree to abide by the rules of the forum. We have never made clear guidelines because there are guidelines posted when you join. I am posting them here so that people understand that there can be no toleration for racist and similar postings. If you find any offensive postings, please advise staff.

While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

I am adding a note here so that members can help the site to run better. Our policy is against all postings of the nature described above, but what would help the site enormously is if members would report infringements instead of replying to them. Report quickly using the report button, and let us deal with infringements as soon as they happen. I think this will help the smooth running of the forum enormously and your help is saught in trying to get the sit running at maximum efficiency.

Thank you.
