GIVING PEOPLE A SECOND CHANCE. Empty
PostSubject: GIVING PEOPLE A SECOND CHANCE.   GIVING PEOPLE A SECOND CHANCE. EmptyMon 03 Apr 2006, 20:16

I used to used the comment section and tell people that if they updated, then I would rerate if they left a comment, but I don't like that system very much and something occurred to me which is more useful for those that want to give new people the chance to update their reviews and make them better. If you leave a comment telling them what is needed in the way of info (not more info needed comments because these don't help anyone who does not know what info is needed), you can actually go back to their review through your comments the next day to see if they did update. What I think this does is give new people the incentive to write better reviews. Okay they get paid the same anyway, but if we do not encourage people to write better reviews, I feel we are not being fair to them. What do you think ?

Well I actually never tell anybody (or very rarely) that I'll re-rate if the review is updated. Sometimes I leave comments on what is needed to make a review better, and go back to see if this advice has been taken on board. 90% of the time nothing happens and I just don't tend to go back to those reviews anymore. I'll just take another look if requested, but not otherwise.

I used to leave an offer including what I thought was missing but was only ever re contacted twice so I stopped making the effort as most of the time people do not seem to bother about the rating just the fact that they got 3p.

I do think that you should leave the rating at the time that you read incase they do not update the review and therefore not rating could leave a false impression of the quality of the review given that some people just rate VU for any old rubbish.
