| It is a total conspiracy, everyone is against me and they keep changing the rules on crowns so that the normal members can keep them all for themselves.
The betting on me not winning the motors competition is 4/7 which is a total fix as well, probably be won by some bloke claiming to have worked in the industry but is in fact a total lush and drives a skoda.

| Just in case you didn't know I am the new toys & games guide and there has not been a crown on this cat since early February.
I have just gone back and read or re-read every review since then and made some reccomendations so we shall see if they are crowned on Monday or not.
Ooh, the power! - only kidding. x
By the way Atticus, I'm going to win the motors comp cos that bloke your refering to said I should! lol

| If you are the new guide for toys, here is a poser for you. I proposed a toy and it seems to have been ignored in the list. All other proposals overtake it and it sits there, all lonely by itself. | |

Cor, talk about chuck me in at the deep end! How long ago did you propose it? I only ask as I suggested one ages ago but becasue there is no picture of it on the internet I put dooyoo's http, it was left all alone for ages, then just disappeared.

They should come clean about the selection procedure used... for instance is there still guide involvement? And they should tell any rejected candidates why they have been rejected... if that hurts their feelings it's tough...

| What worries me is that the guides can't really win. Apparently there is no discussion on the forums now, from what I read, but who is to say that emails are not flying. No one but dooyoo can really know what the guide procedure is. It says on the members page that if you feel you fit the criteria you can apply, but what is the criteria ? apart from rating fairly, commenting honestly in an effort to help members, taking time to read reviews and recognising good ones from bad, being there if a member needs help in your particular area and developing the area you are assigned. I don't think the grey area is the definition or criteria but how it is applied in appointments. POSTING BY MATTY EDITED WITH HER AGREEMENT BY STAFF - Quote :

Top Tip : wait for replies and do not pester dooyoo when waiting for a response.

Top Tip : wait for replies and do not pester dooyoo when waiting for a response. (Not wholehearted, but I agreed). ANYWAY...I clearly cannot really participate in this conversation. I think the operative word here, though, is 'apply'. Anyone can apply, it is up to Dooyoo to decide who to appoint. I think most of us agree (guide or no) that in the past (and possibly even now) guides themselves have had too much input into guide appointments, but it is up to them. On a GENERAL note, I think it must be remembered that the public face of dooyoo seems to consist of two people - it must be a bit tricky for them to deal with every query; every email and every application as quickly as they'd like. They no doubt don't know every active member as well as they should (though they are learning). This isn't defending that - I think they should have more staff, and specifically dedicated uk staff. But that doesn't change the fact that that's how it is - at least at the moment. Therefore, multiple emails about one subject, or from one person demanding and answer to one query/problem/application (whatever that query may be and from whomever) is likely to simply peeve people off. I'm not saying that's how it should be, simply that at the moment that's how it is - and unless dooyoo hire more staff, that's how it's likely to be at the moment.

I proposed it about a month ago and just wait. Its called the Brick Game and I supplied a photo to go with it and the game is still available.

I will see what I can find out for you RAch, still no access to the guide forum though so won't be able to get any help from that end of things. I will email and see what comes up. x

I agree that they must be busy as there does seem to be only two of them but others who applied recently have been appointed and this may be what is seen to be unfair.

| No not at all Wendy. Guides that have been appointed should be given every encouragement from members, as new blood makes a site work better. Actually you were one of the members that said they had heard nothing initially and I am delighted that you have. | |

Yes I agree about the encouragement, I do feel very much like the new girl, but what I meant was it would be fairer if everyone was given the same respect in terms of communication. I had told Dooyoo I was going on holiday and the dates so maybe that was why I took a little longer for an answer in my case.
