Email from the elusive Ciao Empty
PostSubject: Email from the elusive Ciao   Email from the elusive Ciao EmptyMon 26 Feb 2007, 17:30

Hi there,

I had to write this because I am in total shock. I wrote to Ciao at the end of last week about missing pound signs on a product I had suggested.

They've just got back to me with the following reply Surprised

it seems that sometimes the pound symbols do not appear on certain products. I looked up this product on the database though, and it is a paying product (1 pound sign), so if the user writes a review for this they will receive payments per ratings.

So you can go ahead an publish your review.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

Ciao UK

Not sure if I trust them as there are still no pound signs up next to the product as yet but I'm totally shocked at actually getting a reply. Has anyone else had replies on queries today?

I got an email following a complaint I sent to Greenfields but as usual its one of being fobbed off, suggesting that my email has been passed to the Ciao department and to be patient! Bloody cheek!

I used an email outside of anything listed on Ciao UK and stated quite clearly in my email that I was only using this non-related email address because of a complete lack of communication from Ciao UK staff and that I wanted my complaint (Ciao bugs, Ciao Abuse, standard of diamond at odds with Ciao's description, my frozen account from Jan and my missing profile picture) elevated to a higher level than the dogsbodies.

I sent a reminder a fortnight later and got a reply yesterday regarding my profile picture. All other concerns and queries are unresolved. Ciao are useless.

I always receive a courteous reply when I e-mail the Ciao! team ~ a rare occurrance ~ and I like the new system they have implemented to e-mail one when the requested payment has been initiated.

I'm guessing you've not been in touch with them recently! Courteous reply? - Any bloody reply would be a major improvment.

Can't say I'm that bothered about the payment request emails though.

Since never receiving a payment "initiated" one January until many months, e-mails, and proof of non-receipt by bank, later, at least the e-mail lets me know the payment is on the way and gives me a base for a reply if the payment never arrives.

I usually communicate via a reply to a previous reply from them (ie to a named person).

When I reported a new member (early January) for some vindictive, irrelevant and obviously spurious rate(s) and comments (only one of which was on my review), I had no reply, but the member and rates and comments vanished within a week or so. As rates, comments and reviews are most likely to disappear when Ciao! do the deleting of the member (and points from CoT also disappear), I was grateful.

You are right about not communicating recently ~ checking my archived e-mails, the last set of communications was Last July, and it was not I who initiated that.

I tend to live and let live.
