| The recent Peanut Butter Wars were ridiculous - loads of bitchy messages and comments flying back and forth, lots of copying and far too many words about such a stupid product.
I also noticed that at least 2 of last months diamonds were for product of the week categories which just seemed ridiculous - there are only 10 to go round, why give 2 to people you already rewarded for POW?
I've never been tempted in the slightest - the products they choose are mostly just plain silly.

| LOL peanut butter wars!!! " You are not reviewing super smooth peanut butter" "Warning this product contns peasnuts" Oh dear. I've not been tempted either as it is reviewin for reviewing sakes in categories which genuine consumers would not even look at!! (Yes I know I sound sanctimonous) | |

| Loke most of the speakers Corners reviews on Dooyoo I enjoy reading them in a car crash, glutton for punishment way. I like to read them because i know they will be appalling! | |

| I would rather see 'product of the week' scrapped, as reviews on chocolate bars e.t.c are getting unnecessarily long. If they've got this money to pay out on each week and then a bigger payment to the 3 winners at the end of the year, then I'd rather see it being put in the premium fund. Or perhaps it could be spent on some efficient technically minded staff. Lisa x | |

Ciao are a joke at the moment. Why did Ciao cross the road? To hire the chicken as head of development.

| Actually thinking rationally and seriously perhapsif if the competitin was fairly judged it woul be good as products like apple juice a n peanut butter are fairly difficult to write about. | |

| That's like saying iof the PF/Diamonds were fairly judged, the standard of review would increase. Wishful thinking, sadly. | |

| Fundamentally, I think that the Product of the Week competition falls down because of the way it is being managed by Ciao, as opposed to being a bad idea in essence. I can't see anything wrong with a focus on one particular product - it's really just a very specific weekly competition.
Nonetheless, in true Ciao fashion, I suspect that all it will do is bring all the "nasties" out of the undergrowth. Hey ho.

| I dont think it is a bad idea in principle either. Product choice is rather bizarre though...10yr old movies and obscure shampoos are not among the top ten of google searches I don't suppose.
Of course if it is solely on who is top of the league with regards to rates (and therefore Es as they rise to the top)...then it will get abused..end of.
Surely it will be the new HP book any time soon? (Sorry, I am possibly only person in the contry who doesnt know what day it is due out/came out...)

| I dont know...I have had a gazillion emails from amazon..no doubt telling me this important information - but I havent read any of them..!
It could well be out, I really dont know...I dont recall reading any reviews, but then...I dont know what the book is called...!
I'm glad it isn't just me then..
I do own the others too..I thought I better buy them..just in case.
EDITED: No reviews on dooyoo at least...so it mustn't be out..!!!

| His Dark Materials is fabulous. Quite possibly the best series of its type I have ever read.
Complex, intellegent, and seriously questioning about organised religion. Who could ask for more?

| After being accused of deliberately downrating a PoW review to make sure the Author didn't win, l have been avoiding rating PoW reviews before the rating deadline ~ . . . unless the member is on my alerts and l don't realise it is PoW . . . l've only ever reviewed one PoW . . . and regret that | |

| I wrote one of these today as this week's category was one I could write about not realising it was judged on member votes... I wish I hadn't bothered cos not being in with the in crowd (and never having been) I get the impression that, no matter how good the review, I won't stand a chance! | |
