One or two people slagged him of when MaClaren came in and kicked him out but hes done the biz. He is our most effective player and I think we can now qualify for Euro 2008. Most international goals come from set pieces and hes the best in England at them.

Aye, he played well although I had no probs with him being kicked out of the squad before. He hadn't played well for England in ages and took his place in the team for granted. It's surprising what a bit of hunger can do for a performance.

Nonesense. He scored and made two of the other goals in a woeful England team in the World Cup. They used him as an excuse. Once you break your foot youre never quite the same player for two of three years, as we have seen with Rooney. Its all about set-pieces in international football and there was no justification for dropping him.

Must have been watching a different tournament because he was shocking in the world cup from where I was sitting - mind due so was everybody else bar Hargreaves.
Don't agree with him being dumped from the squad but it was the right decision to drop him and give Lennon a go as he looked very bright when he came on against Portugal.
Beckham has been a fanstastic ambassador for football and the country. He isnt the same player he was and doesn't have the same fitness levels as he once had but his crossing and set pieces are invaluable.
I wouldn't forget Lennon though - he's some prsospect for the same position.

I,too, agree that we should have kept him in the squad and played Lennon.. But he wasnt bad in the Wolrd Cup. All he has to do is pass accurately ,which he does. You cant fault his crossing.

I quite like their quirky TV series. Posh is a fun girl and could play that ironic role in a movie..
