| yay Ciao just agreed to let me come back on a probastionary basis... so watch what you put in my GB please Though I have lost loads of points from deleted comments, dont seem to trust anyone any more, have had me money vanish (though that might, just might come back at 2am!) and also have managed to write 40+ reviews and post them over the last few days it seems! | |

| According to Ciao i left lewd and inappropriate comments in peoples GB and they complained about it... which was complete bull!
There were some close to the knuckle comments but they were always part of a banter with someone... not just randomly placed in peoples books.
They seem to have accpeted that as it took them only 5 or so hours from when i emailed them after finding out why i was dleted to allow me back.

| One person (who will no doubt tell her own story) got a warning for advertising in her profile. Thing is, she made up a fake member, and reported herself! | |

Yes that was me. I wanted to see how stupid, lazy and incompetent Ciao were. Copied and pasted my original posting for you below:- Just received this email from Ciao "Hello Please be aware that our Terms and Conditions prohibit using our member functions (comments, profile pages, reviews, etc.) for advertising purposes. You have left comments and/or other material of our website which is in violation of this rule; for example, advertising on your personal profile for reads for another member. Please be careful to follow our rules in the future. Let us know if you have any questions. Best Regards, Lola Ciao UK " You wanna know the funny part? I'm advertising a makebelieve (as in DOESN'T EXIST) member by the name of Do_I_Care Just for the sheer hell of it I reported MYSELF for this terrible breach of serious rules. My friend let me use their account for the reporting. Can you believe Ciao didn't bother to check to see whether Do_I_Care was a real member before warning me? So this confirms they don't check out abuse reports themselves. Instead they take the word of the reporter as gospel. There you go you now have the details of why so many people have been blocked lately. Ciao don't investigate the reports, they just act upon them. All it takes is for one person with a grudge to cause havoc and end up getting loads of members warned, suspended or permanently deleted. Don't you think this is quite a serious problem? It shows that Ciao really don't give a sh*te about any of it's members whatsoever. It's just a job to them, we are just numbers. What ya reckon then?

| I agree that this seems to be the case, though wonder why they bothered to warn you instead of deleting you ? or barring you from the site ? In many instances, ciao abuse would be better believing in their members and questioning their actions and giving a warning, letting the members reply before being barred from their site. Were you barred or is "she" still a member ? | |

Cos they pick and choose don't they. Anyway regardless of the fact that my account is still active the question is, should they send a warning to a member without finding out first if the member does indeed deserve a warning? (and don't you think my 'about me' is quite funny? )

| Of COURSE we're just numbers to Ciao.
Ciao is a business.
They don't CARE about any of their members. Even those of you who get responses to emails.
Get over it or leave. |

Get over it or leave. I'm over it, it never even bothered me. I just found it extremely funny to be warned about violations when i'd completely made the name up anyway. I'm sure once they realise i've just done it to annoy them i'll get another warning (and maybe suspension) for reporting fake abuse using someone elses account to do so.

Has this not always been the case ? I'd hate to get on the wrong side of you Erika !! It seems they take your complaints seriously.

| Since the report came from a legitimate account, they did not question it, thinking it was a genuine complaint. Then maybe they did check out youyr fake member that you advertised, and seeing it a fake, decided only to warn you rather than bar you.
Or, they make have just hit the 'send a warning letter' on their keyboard.
