Create your own Ciao list

'Maybe there is this computer that you want to buy shortly. Or there are these books which you wouldn’t mind having on your bookshelf. This is totally lost on me. Just had a look at one and could see that it seemed to be restricted to only things that were already on Ciao - so unless 'your absolutely most favourite things in all the world' all happen to be on Ciao, it looks a bit daft.

Has anyone actually looked at their own list page. I checked mine earlier just to see the layout etc and was surprised to see that 2 products had already been added !!!! I certainly never put them there, have deleted them now.

Well, it didn't find the "Crapola Tube of Contraception" so looks like I won't be using this feature.

How desperate to whip up interest is this web site????

I agree. My Amazon list has "Crapola Tube of Contraception" in it.

Maybe they'd be better taking the time in making sure the site (or should I say the staff) are working correctly before adding yet more useless bells and whistles like "Ciao Lists".

Perhaps somebody keeps forgetting to charge them up every once in a while. Lisa x

I think it's a cross between Amazon's "Wish lists" and that other list thing on Amazon where people rave about stuff they think you should buy.

Perhaps belatedly, like Averilla, I've just found out that Ciao have been adding lists for me. My last review (computer monitor) has already been added to a "products I own" list, that I can't delete!

How desperate are Ciao to make a feature look popular that they create automatic, undeletable lists. Oh, AND they offer CPs for each list you create... Hell's bells.

You could always just delete your account? Then you wouldn't be party to such rubbish.

Will have to create some sort of dummy review to post over my existing reviews, though.

Why do you need a dummy account? I resigned ages ago but still go over (as a non member) and copy and paste reviews from time to time.

Are you talking about leaving your account open and only nipping back to CnP reviews? I thought meant close your account completely (cos I'm not leaving Ciao with my work) which is why I was talking about overwriting my current reviews with a dummy review.

Anyway, if it's the former, I pretty much do that anyway.

Ciao paid you for that 'work' already - badly admitedly, but they paid you none the less.

I trust you will be sending them a nice refund cheque when you overwrite them and delete your account.

Pfffft. No. Anyway, Ciao haven't paid me for ALL of the work, there's some Cafe stuff in there... and judging from the PF system, reviews are essentially worthless after the first month anyway.

most of cafe stuff is unpaid....you know that when you write it....surely?

Yup, but K's argument is that they've paid me for my work, so removing the work from Ciao is either naughty or taking the mickey.

I don't think it's naughty, just bizarre. I really couldn't be bothered to go back and do something to prevent them making 4p out of me per year.

Oh dear it looks like Ciao will try anything to keep their members entertained.
