The only problem with deleting rather than updating old reviews is that if you ever right in that topic again (say if the topic becomes useful again) then you are at risk of being done for abuse. I would advise people to make a note of what they have written in to avoid this.

Oh this was me, in my last Ciao review wasn't it?

I deleted the ones I didn't like, such as old cafe pieces, and my early 2-3 reviews, such as a car review that I cannot update properly now, as I haven't owned it for nearly five years.

However, I fail to see the link with abuse - if I wrote about an Audi A3 five years ago and deleted the review, then I write about it again as I buy another Audi A3, identical to the first model (i.e. same category), how can that be abuse? Question It's not like Ciao even pay us for writing 90% of the time! And the dreaded CPs were wiped when the reviews were! surely Ciao would want my new review, assuming I can write car reviews of course. (which I can now!)

No its nothing to do with abuse. Thought that was the link you used to get rid of reviews. My misunderstanding probably and yes it was you that told me in my guestbook.

No, I meant the previous reference to abuse, that I quoted on my first post in this thread that I don't understand...there is no benefit to me of deleting my reviews, so I don't understand why should then avoid writing in those categories again.

I am not likely to, as I don't have another Audi, and I deleted a few old cafe ones for good reason. I just don't see what could possibly count as abuse if I chose to write in them again confused

It is apparently a ciao rule that no member can write in the same category twice.

It's not though. It's a Ciao rule that you cannot post the same REVIEW more than once. Deleting one, then writing another one a year later, because you happened to buy the same model of car again, is not writing the "same" review twice, anyway.

You cannot write in the same category twice i.e. two opinions, as the system forbids it anyway. You can only edit.

Perhaps Dididave will answer if he comes online, as he seemed to think there was a problem. I just don't see how.
