| The review that won it is a very good review but far too long in my opinion and the review that came second should have been ahead of it.
The person who wrote the winning review is a good mate from my Ciao days and is a great writer but I stopped writing car reviews when I was told the winning review was selected "randomly" from all car reviews that month.
made it seem like a churners dream rather than a good review writers challenge.

made it seem like a churners dream rather than a good review writers challenge. It can't have been random considering the quality of the reviews that won though - where did you hear it would random?

| Seriously, the motor guide told me that and I am not speaking for him here, but I do not think he was too happy about it.

| Actually, I think (and I'll confirm) that that was originally going to be the case, but in the end, it was judged by Dooyoo.
It's specifically not chosen by Guides, so that no claims of favouritism can be made.
Cheers! | |

Cheers! Then they chose a winner who obnly posted what I believ to be a Ciao review and has not visited the site in yonks. No disrespect to the winner in any way as he is a mate but I bet he is laughing his tits off.

| It's an exception. Under the rules people are not allowed to advertise their reviews, but after the fact, when someone has won a prize, (other than the normal crown thingies), they can. Its a monthly competition on dooyoo and this month is pets. | |

| While we're on the subject, on review draws, is the list still up for the first review draws? As I can't find it on dooyoo Lisa x | |

Both you and Angus are wrong, the winning entries were judged by Dooyoo and it was not a random draw, it that was the case then the member who posted about a dozen car reviews in the month would have proably expectd to have picked up one of the prizes. The competition was open to all reviews in the category not just those that were rated VU however as you would expect the winners came from reviews with mostly VU ratings Both of the first two placed reviews crowned and the writer of the third placed review had another car review in the month crowned as well.

| Thankyou for your explanation. I thought a random one would have been a shame. | |

| If I'm CHOSEN to represent my country at sport does that mean it was a random draw, if you read the posts in the guide forum it does not say it is a random draw rather that they choose the winner from all of the review posted that is because as Alex explains for some reason they cannot at the front end filter all of the VU rated reviews.
If I'm wrong I apologise but the chances that two people who only submitted one entry in the month actually winning seems unlikely.

If it is a random draw then quality does not come into it, my point is that the reviews are chosen by Dooyoo therefore it is not a random draw.

| Hey, I am taking nothing away from any of the winners, two of them were very good reviews, but I was told by the perosn formerly known as jock that it was random and chosen from all the reviews.
Having said that, with the exception of Wendys review, they got it right. so 2 out of three aint bad.
