As I do normally (Unless it is lipotrim or some other review that needs a rude comment!) I would comment on the experience of the user in the product, empathise if necessary if had a shared experience, or argue if there was a flaw in the logic for example..(e.g **** Bank are crap, don't use them as they charged me when I went overdrawn..you know, that sort of thing..) I just don't see the benefit to ANYONE about making comments about people's ability to write a coherent review, spelling, grammar etc. The site, ultimately needs quantity of opinions, not necessarily " quality" in the way most reviewers write. I doubt Dooyoo would want us leaving those kinds of comments actually, as if anyone does stick around to see the comments, then they won't bother their butt next time. It's back to my hotel argument again. I would rather 50 people left a star rating and 15 words each than two people wrote a thesis (and potentially don't even agree!!) how do you make a purchasing decision based on that! At least with 50 reviews you can look at the star rating and think, well it is 3.5 stars on dooyoo, 4 stars on tripadvisor or whatever and with a decent NUMBER of people leaving their opinion in the form of their star rating. I know from being a real consumer, booking my recent trip to America that if I saw a relatively high number of reviews on tripadvisor and expedia, and the hotel still had an average of 3.5 stars or more (by the reviewers, not the official rating!!) then it would be worth a closer look. (very few get more than 4 anyway, on these sites, as an average) I will put 10p in the Xmas fund for swearing!

| Good points Helen, but what about any encouragement to take a look around the site, and potentially become a member who gets paid for writing reviews ? | |

| but that isn't their agenda - necessarily. Given the amount of one hit wonders on these sites over the years, people just leave their opinion and think no more about it. by tomorrow they will have forgotten they even contributed something!
If they come back several times or write several reviews in one day, then potentially it might be worth a different approach eventually (but I still argue that it is ultimately the quantity of reviews which is more important in helping people make a QUICK purchasing decision)

| Okay. I understand that. So in fact we are rating them as a service to dooyoo to get reviews in the right order as we do with other reviews, but this time, no one gets paid for the read. | |

| Is it my imaginatio or have the express views disappeared? Are these now the 75 words or less ones? | |

| I think these are now counted as the express reviews. I can actually see a point to it too. If a non member writes a review, as Helen says, chances are they won't be back. If they join and become a paid member, they would be tempted to write more short reviews. It may actually cut down the amount of people getting paid for substandard reviews. | |

Dooyoo don't put the reviews in any order other than reverse date order.. In fact why we rate them at all is a good question!

| Yes, but by rating the unhelpful ones unhelpful, they will disappear off the database eventually I guess. | |

In fact why we rate them at all is a good question! There is a new button for you to put them in the oder you want I think, which is great if you are looking for something and want to put the VU's first.

Yeah, it's the "Review Rating" button, not to be confused with the "Product Rating" button.
