| And me. Have the guides got any ideas as to how long the site will be down for? | |

| They are having server problems apparently but Jared says it is being worked on and shouldn't be too long (with a bit of luck) x | |

| Would have been a lot easier to put that in the message rather than 'we are currently optimizing our system' which to me indicates a planned downtime as opposed to we have a problem Houston. | |

| If Ciao did an 'optimising our system' we'd have to expect the site to be down for a few weeks. | |

It might have been server upgrade rather than problem but don't quote me on that!

| Hi guys. As the guide forum got swallowed by server doom and things have been a little weird on my end (thank you everyone who sent Get Well cards...the one "Glad to hear you're not going out of business" card was particularly appreciated) I figured I'd pop over here, say hi...and occasionally spread the word directly down from dooyoo. Hopefully that's alright with you guys (though in retrospect my choice in avatars was probably not the best off selections) as we a few of you already know we read the forums when we need to know what's going on and how to improve dooyoo. On topic: The server issue has actually been going on for a little while now. It started over a week ago when the site was down for about a half hour and we had to go to our back-up server. What's happening now IS planned and hopefully will be the end of server drama that we've had to put up with over the past couple of weeks. So it's less "we have a problem Houston" and more "Dear Nasa: We're in space now and we would like to know if you found time to fix that whole "landing" issue we talked about just before the take-off", if that makes any sense. If we hadn't had the guide forum swallowed by server goblins, then we would have made sure everyone knew the site should be back up by this afternoon at the latest. That's what I've been told and hopefully that'll end up being correct. -Jared "you know, that guy that works for dooyoo from time to time"
(Again, feel free to start a forum fire if there's a problem with me being here. Really. This is your forum, I can understand if there's an issue with me posting here.)

| Your avatar is freaking me out - I've just had to go to the chemist for eye drops for itchy allergic eyes. Can you believe that the tree pollen is really early this year - for goodness sake it's only the middle of Feb. | |

| Sorry, I was going through my stock of avatars and the creepy eye from Terrorvision just struck me as a oddly fitting one for the forum. I'm a sucker for bad horror movies, admittedly. Also, the whole "itchy eye thing" sounds awful. Out of all the parts of my body that could possibly itch, that ranks definitely as the 2nd worst. -jared "who will not mention the 1st nor has he had any experience with that particular part of his body itching" | |

| I agree with the sentiments expressed above and it's something Dooyoo has done well in the past. Actually "talking" to the members goes a long way. Nice one. [p.s. we've had this server down rouse before. You're playing online poker with yer buddies really, aren'tcha? ] | |

| Here's the creepy thing: I'm almost completely done with everyone's suggestions. Which doesn't seem right from some of the upset emails I've gotten. Right now I'm just going to announce when they're 100% done and pray that we didn't lose some along the way due to server doom. I'm still waiting for confirmation back from a few people who claimed they had a dozen suggestions waiting and, when I actually looked, I only found a handful. Either a couple of people have been exaggerating for effect, or something screwy is happening. By the by, realistically the Suggestion queue should be 100% empty by next monday afternoon/Tuesday morning. That means ALL the suggestions. Oh and I'm terrible at online poker, so trust me: I'm not doing that at all. -jared | |

Did an adminstrator inform Jared that any new members found giving false hopes on their first day on the forum would be severely punished? What time does the afternoon officially finish and the evening begin? It will soon be time to put that cricket box on I've heard Thingy is a bit of a ball breaker

LOL. hope everything will be sorted very soon! At least we know what is happening now and got the info direct from the dooyoo team. Keep us posted for the progress. thanks.
