Can't get on ciao!

I can't get on ciao! The other week I had some problems, it told me that my registered email address wasn't working, and so i had to set up a new one just so I could get onto the site. I've just tried to change it back, and it told me that it would send my password to my 'new' email. It hasn't. I clicked the 'forgotten your password' link and its saying I need to enter the address that I originally signed up to ciao with (but that was 2.5 years ago and the account got hacked into and messed up not long after). What to dooooo!!?!

I think that an email to ciao is called for, as this has happened to several people that have changed email, including me.

Just email them.

It might get sorted..eventually!

Done, I sent it to to of the addresses, they better sort me out, I am having withdrawal symptoms. Ta

The change of email address has had loads of people locked out of ciao for a week or so after they change it. You think they would have sorted that hiccup out by now...We miss you Kati

Can someone tell me if I have been removed. I have logged in on a different account and searched for my name, just so i could look at my guestbook comments but i didnt come up on the search? have ciao deleted my account?

I can't find you on there at all. Member search is not working properly as Fiona does not show up either.

I found you account not by search but by clicking on a link from one of my reviews you rated. By the way, may names not Barry its Eddie, Barry is where i come from. lol.

Been trying to get on Ciao this morning but can't seem to log in. Is it just me? Have they finally seen sense enough to ban this "chatterbox" :O

I wonder what delights (i.e. changes) they have in store for us this time? Maybe we'll get a free apple with each new review?

It occurred to me that even if they put an announcement on the members page, who would have looked for it in advance of the problem ?

Well I would have thought the most sensible thing to do is to have a message displayed on any Ciao link you try to get into saying "we are experiencing technical problems, please try back later" or " we are updating the site, please try later" bla bla bla. Most "real" websites manage to do this, it's not difficult to organise (yeah yeah let her work in a software development company for a couple of months and she's suddenly a know-it-all) lol

This IS different to the last time. At least then there was a CIAO page which said "Please try later" (ie you could get through to the CIAO server). Today you end up at the AOL search page (if like me you use AOL) or the HTTP504 error page - server not found.

Is it also me, but the last few days the site seems to have been awash with "whities"? Do I finally get the impression of sinking ships and mammals sensitive to Warfarin?
