PostSubject: LOCKED OUT OF CIAO   LOCKED OUT OF CIAO EmptyWed 22 Mar 2006, 20:07

I cleared my cookies earlier and in doing so, I do not have my ciao password any more. Went into ciao to ask by email for the password, and they do not recognise my email address. Locked out !!

Data entry error occurred.
The e-mail address that you entered does not match our records.
Please make sure you enter the same e-mail address that you used when you first registered at Ciao.

Your account is under investigation as a result of a number of complaints we have received from other members about advertising your forum via member guestbooks. As soon as this investigation is concluded we will advise you accordingly.

Keith says to tell you it's not fair as he's been locked out for a week and you got an answer the same day while he's still waiting, Rachel.

Ha.

Tell him the secret of success lies in what email address you write from. If you are category 8 Locked out and you use your normal email address, then they do not respond, because to them the email address does not exist any more on the database. Hence, I have several. Works for me every time. Has done for the past year.

LOCKED OUT OF CIAO Empty
PostSubject: Re: LOCKED OUT OF CIAO   LOCKED OUT OF CIAO EmptyThu 23 Mar 2006, 17:52

I have no idea what they put into the Ciao staff's tea lately, they have become incredibly petty.

I know you invited me to join your forum a few times and I even had to ask Kate earlier what the web address was as I had deleted it from my GB, can't even remember if it was in my public or private one.

I can get angry about the silliest of things but you inviting me to join your forum would have been the last thing I would consider complaining about.

Hope you kept a list of who you left the message with to find out who stabbed you in the back.

Good luck and I hope it all gets sorted out soon.

PostSubject: Re: LOCKED OUT OF CIAO   LOCKED OUT OF CIAO EmptyThu 23 Mar 2006, 17:56

Don't really care much. When I started the forum, I checked with Ciao because I wanted a link on ciao's site, a little like opinionators one on dooyoo. I thought we were more ciao orientated. Of course they laughed at the idea and Paul replied that Personal Home Page was free advertising and that I had the use of private guestbooks for such things. I was doing what I was doing with Ciao's approval. If the rules have changed, then they should have informed me, having confirmed that I could use PGB in that way. I only once put the link for the site in one public guestbook and the member was understanding enough to delete the link. They have a paid category for the old site and it all seems very petty and stupid to me.

I am not so sure this time. I did what they accused me of. I told ciao members about a site made for ciao people. Since I started on ciao, there have been sites for members, even a chatroom for members, and the way in which people told people about it was presumably in guestbooks. I think this is very petty, but if I am reinstated, and am told that I cannot invite people then that's fair enough. I shall abide by the rules of the site.
