| I bet its really painful for you when you have to hand out a decent rating rather than scathing sarcasm. | |

I see it more as realistic opinion but then I am quite open to people giving me scathing sarcasm providing they also back up their comments with fact. Makes the day a whole lot lighter and brighter, besides, half the comments are rates are false so if someone takes the time to find fault with my work I take it as a compliment. But yes, it is painful.

| To get a crown you "had" to be liked by the guide who's section you were writing in. Now, I am not so sure.
To be nominated for a crown (If you go by comments) it seems that almost every review is nominated and the fact that there is one person dealing with the entire UK membership and has limited English, I am guessing that once again it will be down to the guide of that category.
In phils case, he needs to go to a dentist to get his crown.

| In the sort time I have been a guide the impression that I have got is that there are more than just one person working on the UK site however they are not all full time.
Certainly a guide nomination does not guarantee a crown as there have been reviews I nominated that did not crown and other guides have said the same.

Don't think that is completely fair. I think they have another guy working there now that is fluent in English. As for guide influence, then if the guides are unbiased and doing their job properly, there is no problem with their nominations being taken seriously.

| I don't think there is definite way of getting a crown as it's the same as diamonds on Ciao. Repeating what others have said some reviews can be well written and informative and not get one, while others that are less informative and hard to read get one, although this doesn't happen in all cases of course! I think that as long as you produce a review that clearly states everything about that product and a good amount of your opinion then you have done all that you can. Lisa x | |

| I think quite frankly that reviews that have all the information in them are much more likely to get a crown than they are to get a diamond, just by shere percentages. Work out how many reviews are on ciao's database per month and how many diamonds, and then how many are on dooyoo a month and how many crowns. No comparison at all. | |
